We have been preparing since March. The time is coming so fast. In just 11 weeks and 3 days, 12 of us will be on an airplane headed to Nairobi Kenya. We will be joined with a team from Lifeway Christian Church in Derry NH of which, only 1 member of the team has been to Mathare. As far as Crossway is concerned, for 4 of us, this will be a return trip. For the 8 that remain, they will be headed into new territory and an exciting, life changing experience. We will get to see familiar faces as well as brand new ones. It is exhilarating and frightening at the same time. But what we as a team will accomplish through God's hand will be unbelievable! We will all return changed people forever. We will never look at life the same again. This blog will document our time together as we cry, smile, laugh and share in the joy that the Kenyans bring to us and to themselves. We will teach them and they as well will teach us. They will teach us how to find joy in the midst of sorrow. To seek Jesus Christ in the midst of what they do not have! And how Missions of Hope is changing Mathare Valley into the Mountain of God. So glad to have you on this journey with us!
